Is anyone surprised by the survey results? Besides, that a large number of professors are skeptical of online education tells us nothing substantive about whether or not online education produces the desirable outcomes; only careful and extensive empirical studies can shed light on this, opinion surveys cannot. Also, if there is widespread skepticism, why should there by widespread concern about budget cuts? You'd think there would be relief: we can "lay off" the online courses!
